Privacy policy
How information is used when you visit this website or send an enquiry.
Who is responsible
Vision2 is operated by Ryan Kirkaldy in Devon, United Kingdom. Ryan is responsible for the personal information handled through this website. Contact [email protected] with questions about your information.
Information collected
The enquiry form collects your name, email address, chosen enquiry area and message. Please avoid including sensitive personal information or confidential documents in an initial enquiry.
Website hosting and security services may also record technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages and browser details to operate the site, diagnose problems and prevent abuse.
How information is used
Enquiry details are used to understand your request, reply and discuss possible work. Where you are asking about a contract with you, this processing is to take steps at your request before entering a contract. Other business enquiries and site security are handled for the legitimate interests of communicating about services and operating a secure website.
Who receives it
Form enquiries are emailed to [email protected], which is hosted on my own web server. I read business email in Gmail, so a copy is also held by Google. Website hosting, security and email providers process information only as part of providing those services. Not all of that processing necessarily takes place in the UK or EU.
The Magento support checker and website health check
If you use the Magento support checker or the website health check, the web address you enter is recorded with the time and the result, so I can follow up if you ask me to. Your IP address is used only to limit repeat checks for an hour and is not stored.
Keeping information
Retention depends on whether an enquiry is still active, whether it leads to work, and whether records are needed for contractual, accounting or legal purposes. Contact Ryan to discuss deletion of an enquiry or the retention of a particular record.
Cookies and browser storage
WordPress uses cookies for functions such as signed-in sessions.
Analytics
I use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see how the site is used (for example which pages are visited, how people arrive and how long they stay) so I can improve it. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_*, which last up to two years. I don’t use advertising cookies, and advertising features are switched off.
Analytics runs unless you decline. You can decline at any time from the notice or the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. Declining stops Tag Manager and Analytics loading in that browser and removes the Analytics cookies. Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage (v2_analytics), so it applies until you clear your browser data. If you are signed in to the site, Analytics does not run.
Google processes this data on my behalf. Google may transfer data outside the UK; see Google’s privacy policy for how it handles data.
Your choices and rights
You can ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion or restriction of its use. You may also have a right to receive information in a portable format, depending on the circumstances.
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email [email protected] to make a request. Rights depend on the circumstances and any applicable legal requirements.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
